The Department of Agriculture 12 recently held a Plan and Budget Proposal Consultation alongside a Joint Planning Workshop for FY 2026. Led by Regional Technical Director Abraham A. Onotan, representing DA-Regional Executive Director Roberto T. Perales, the event took place on October 8-9, 2024, in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat and October 10-11, 2024 in Koronadal City. The primary goal was to engage Local Government Units (LGUs) and stakeholders in collaboratively developing a strategic plan for the regional agriculture sector.
The workshop convened representatives from various LGUs, agricultural organizations, and community stakeholders who engaged in productive discussions to identify, prioritize, and integrate Agriculture Programs, Activities, and Projects (PAPs) in support to the strategies espoused in the Masaganang Bagong Pilipinas for the upcoming fiscal years. This collaborative effort is essential in determining a comprehensive agriculture development agenda that addresses the unique needs of the region.
Participants were tasked with generating a regional list of PAPs that would be incorporated into the FY 2026 agriculture sector plan. They also focused on creating a three-year rolling investment plan for FY 2026-2028, ensuring that local development goals align with national agricultural priorities.
The event concluded with a commitment from all participants to continue collaborating and refining the proposed plans to enhance the agricultural landscape in the region. As the DA moves forward with these initiatives, stakeholders expressed optimism about the potential for growth and development in the local agriculture sector.
