The Department of Agriculture recently convened various local government units (LGUs), agricultural organizations, and community members from Sarangani Province and General Santos City for the conduct of Plan and Budget Proposal Consultation and Joint Planning Workshop aimed at shaping the agricultural sector’s strategic plan for fiscal year 2026. The event led by Regional Technical Director Abraham A. Onotan, held on October 17-18 in General Santos City.
Participants engaged in collaborative discussions to identify and prioritize Agriculture Programs, Activities, and Projects (PAPs) that align with the Masaganang Bagong Pilipinas strategy for the upcoming fiscal years. The participants focused on developing a regional list of PAPs for the FY 2026 agriculture sector plan, alongside a three-year investment strategy for FY 2026-2028, ensuring that local objectives are in sync with national priorities.
As the region looks toward the future, this strategic planning effort is set to play an important role in fostering agricultural innovation and sustainability in Sarangani Province and General Santos City.
