#PRDPCoconutIndustryScaleUp | The Coconut Stakeholder’s Forum, conducted by the Philippine Rural Development Project Regional Project Coordination Office XII (PRDP-RPCO 12) in collaboration with the Provincial Local Government Unit Cotabato Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, was successfully held on June 28, 2024 in Kidapawan City.

The activity included key players in the coconut industry who participated in discussions about the current state, opportunities, and value chain analysis of the coconut sector. It also aimed to inform key stakeholders of the priority commodity industry about the PRDP Scale-Up, highlighting investment priorities, industry challenges, and strategies to enhance competitiveness for commodities with significant potential for large-scale investments.

PLGU Cotabato Provincial Consultant Amalia Datukan emphasized the importance of advancing agri-industrialization in the province, particularly in coconut production. She stated that their efforts are geared towards moving forward with this initiative to boost the agricultural economy.

Judge Lily Lydia Laguindanum, another Provincial Consultant, highlighted their goal of convincing farmers about the benefits of agri-industrialization. By maximizing coconut production, they aim to foster a thriving coconut industry in Cotabato.

The activity concluded by presenting common project goals and resource identification, which are crucial steps in achieving a successful and sustainable coconut industry in the region.
