# LOOK | Today, August 22, 2023, the Philippine Rural Development Project Regional Project Coordination Office 12-IPLAN Component spearheaded the activity on the presentation of the Tilapia Value Chain Analysis (VCA) and the Stakeholders’ Consultation on Tilapia VCA held in Koronadal City, in partnership with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, with the presence of the Project Support Office Mindanao.

The VCA aims to understand structural and dynamic factors affecting key chains in the region, identify market opportunities for smallholders and agri-based enterprises, identify systemic issues hindering rural households’ participation, and prioritize interventions to overcome bottlenecks, fostering industry competitiveness and climate change resiliency.

The said activity was attended by various officials and representatives from RPCO 12-IPLAN, PSO, and BFAR.
This activity also aims to ensure the viability of the tilapia industry as well as maximize its potential for generating and maintaining a competitive advantage in the SOCCSKSARGEN Region.
The final presentation of the Tilapia VCA per chapter is on August 30, 2023, and to be followed by a stakeholders’ consultation for the Tilapia VCA on 31, 2023.
