Department of Agriculture (DA) Undersecretary for Special Concerns and for BARMM Engr. Zamzamin Ampatuan, South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo Tamayo, Jr., and Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform Dr. Mohammad Yacob led the said activity in Koronadal City.
As stipulated in the agreement, poultry farms in South Cotabato will buy the produce of corn farmers in BARMM. It will also strengthen the partnership between the SOCCSKSARGEN Region and BARMM.
“BARMM will have an assured market,” said Ampatuan.
According to the DA undersecretary, this effort will directly benefit 60% of the former MILF combatants who are now engaged in farming.
Moreover, DA 12 OIC Regional Technical Director for Research and Regulations Lorna Vilbar, Ph.D, and DA 12 OIC RTD for Operations Zaldy Boloron also witnessed the said MOA signing.
