𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟏𝟐 𝐑𝐏𝐀𝐁 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐈𝐀𝐃𝐏 𝐒𝐮𝐛-𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐨; 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐏𝟏𝟎𝟕.𝟓 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐩𝐞𝐭 𝐀𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐨 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞

KORONADAL CITY — The SOCSKSARGEN Regional Project Advisory Board (RPAB) approved and endorsed for funding the proposed Rehabilitation/Concreting of Brgy. Manobisa: Sitio Mabato to Sitio Timodos Farm-to-Market Road in Brgy. Manobisa, Magpet Municipality, Cotabato province, worth P107.5 million under the Dept. of Agriculture – Mindanao Inclusive Agriculture Development Project (DA-MIADP 12) during the Regional Project Advisory Board (RPAB) meeting held on November 19, 2024, this city.

This momentous occasion marks the first MIADP sub-project approved by a Regional Project Advisory Board and scheduled to break ground by the first quarter of 2025.

Deputy Project Director Maria Cecilia E. Frando, who acted as chairman of the board, also presided on behalf of Project Director Roberto T. Perales. Present during the deliberation were Dept. Of Public Works & Highways representative Engr. Nomer C. Cadoy, Dept. Of Environmental and Natural Resource XII representative Roger V. Mercado, Dept. Of Agrarian Reform XII representative Darwin D. Palmes, Department of Interior and Local Government XII representative Engr. Herminia S. Ontoy, Regional Agi-Fishery Council 12 representative Eduardo M. Castin, National Commission for Indigenous Peoples XII representative Protacio Pasaje Jr., and MIADP Project Support Office Deputy Project Director Engr. Cristy P. Pollido. They were joined by the component heads and staff of the DA-MIADP Regional Project Coordination Office XII and representatives from LGU-Magpet headed by OIC Municipal Engineer Hydie Julian.

The 6.11km road rehabilitation and concreting is expected to improve road infrastructure in Barangay Manobisa and adjacent communities in Barangay Amabel, promising to boost agricultural productivity, facilitate easier transportation of goods, and enhance the area’s overall economic development. The project is also expected to provide better access to social services such as healthcare and education among farming communities. By enhancing agricultural productivity and profitability through an improved road network, the project aims to uplift the quality of life for the Obu-Monuvu Indigenous Cultural Communities (ICCs) residing in the area.

The Mindanao Inclusive Agriculture Development Project (MIADP) is a six-year term project that will run from 2023 to 2028, designed to enhance sustainable agricultural productivity, resilience, and market access for organized farmer and fisherfolk groups in selected ancestral domains (ADs) and value chains in Mindanao. The project is being implemented by the Department of Agriculture, along with implementing partners that include the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) and Ministry of Indigenous Peoples Affairs (MIPA) for BARMM region.
