#WorldFoodDay | Sixteen elementary pupils from eight schools’ divisions of SOCCSKSARGEN Region have exhibited their dexterity in visual arts during the conduct of the Regional On-the-Spot Poster Making Contest in line with the World Food Day celebration.
The contest, which happened today at the Conference Room of the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office XII, is the major highlight of the annual celebration with the theme: Right to Foods for a Better Life and a Better Future.
Scarlette M. Subiera, a Grade V pupil from General Santos City Special Education Integrated School in General Santos City, bested other contestants claiming the top spot with the following prizes: PhP5,000, a plaque, a medal, and a certificate. She will represent the region to the national level of the competition in Metro Manila on October 14-16, 2024.
The second placer was Martha Isabelle Antipuesto, who took home PhP3,000, a plaque, a medal, and a certificate, while Adryl Philip L. Abanes, ranked third taking tome PhP2,000, and other similar prizes.
Professors from the University of Southern Mindanao – Kabacan namely: Mr. Ariel E. Sadulang; Ms. JP E. Fortinez; and Ms. Ira Andreanna Mama served as this year’s panel of judges.
