The SOCCSKSARGEN Coffee Industry Development Council conducted a meeting facilitated by the Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) of the Department of Agriculture 12 (DA-RFO 12) on August 20, 2024 in Koronadal City.
The primary purpose was to discuss the current state of the coffee industry, identify challenges, and find solutions to improve coffee production in the region.
A significant proposal presented during the meeting involved the establishment of a Regional Coffee Consolidation Hub in Sultan Kudarat. This hub would cater to coffee growers from the SOCCSKSARGEN region and BARMM, aiming to guarantee the quality and sustainable supply of green coffee beans (GCB) which eventually benefit local coffee growers.
