#AgriTayoSOXFeature | The SOCCSKSARGEN Coffee Farmers Congress unfolded in General Santos City from January 22 to 24, 2025, bringing together coffee farmers, industry leaders, and policymakers from across Region XII in a vibrant showcase of local coffee culture and innovation.

Over the three-day event, exhibits displayed the region’s diverse and high-quality coffee offerings, providing a platform for farmers to network with key stakeholders. Local officials, including Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office XII Regional Executive Director Roberto T. Perales, emphasized the congress’s importance as a forum for fostering unity and collaboration to strengthen the coffee industry. SOCCSKSARGEN Coffee Council Chairman Ronan Eugene C. Garcia reaffirmed the council’s commitment to improving farmers’ incomes through cost-effective production and convergence initiatives.

The congress also featured exciting competitions and insightful presentations, including the β€œBrew It On!” brewing contest where Riczel John D. Bantilan of Betterdays Coffee emerged as the champion. The Region 12 Taster’s Cup 2025 further showcased the region’s top coffee talents, with Joey Maravillas claiming victory.

Throughout the congress, farmers gained valuable knowledge on industry trends, challenges, and success stories, with interactive β€œKape’t Kuwentuhan” sessions offering opportunities for farmers to engage with experts.

As the event concluded, it strengthened partnerships, sparked new innovations, and propelled the region’s coffee industry towards a more aromatic and prosperous future.
