#AgriTayoSOXFeature | The SOCCSKSARGEN Coffee Farmers Congress unfolded in General Santos City from January 22 to 24, 2025, bringing together coffee farmers, industry leaders, and policymakers from across Region XII in a vibrant showcase of local coffee culture and innovation.

Over the three-day event, exhibits displayed the regionโ€™s diverse and high-quality coffee offerings, providing a platform for farmers to network with key stakeholders. Local officials, including Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office XII Regional Executive Director Roberto T. Perales, emphasized the congressโ€™s importance as a forum for fostering unity and collaboration to strengthen the coffee industry. SOCCSKSARGEN Coffee Council Chairman Ronan Eugene C. Garcia reaffirmed the council’s commitment to improving farmers’ incomes through cost-effective production and convergence initiatives.

The congress also featured exciting competitions and insightful presentations, including the โ€œBrew It On!โ€ brewing contest where Riczel John D. Bantilan of Betterdays Coffee emerged as the champion. The Region 12 Tasterโ€™s Cup 2025 further showcased the region’s top coffee talents, with Joey Maravillas claiming victory.

Throughout the congress, farmers gained valuable knowledge on industry trends, challenges, and success stories, with interactive โ€œKapeโ€™t Kuwentuhanโ€ sessions offering opportunities for farmers to engage with experts.
