The first Urban Agriculture (UA) Summit will be a two-day conference in Cebu City. Spearheaded by the National Urban and Peri-Urban Agriculture Program (NUPAP), the UA Summit serves as an opportunity to ignite inclusive collaboration and create relevant discourse among regional field offices and partner stakeholders toward strengthening nationwide urban and peri-urban agriculture (UPA) initiatives and communicating its sustainability for food security, sufficiency, and sovereignty.
This year’s theme, Shared Responsibility Toward a Future-proof Urban Agriculture, will focus on strategizing action plans and optimizing interventions that can help the UPA activities establish and gear up for succeeding years of implementation. Through interactive presentations, training workshops, exhibits, and panel discussions, the event seeks to equip delegates with skills, tools, and knowledge, gaining firsthand experience from UPA changemakers, and agricultural innovators committed to the advancement of an intersectional approach between policy direction, technology transfer, and smart agriculture.
